Unclear reply

In 4:32 of the following cartoon, the villain says "...The reality of your extinction is just a matter of time!" and the man replies "It's 8:00" I couldn't get why the man replies like that. Is there some humor about the dialogue? Could you tell me what it is? Thanks very much in advance!
