UK v US spelling

Which is correct usage in the UK - realize or realise?

I think The Times newspaper has "realise" as its style, but a friend disagrees and insists on using "realize" in our publicity material. I think it looks Americanized/ised and awful. Which is "more" correct?

Top answer

Realise is only used in the UK to my knowledge and dictionary. Realize is listed as correct in AmE and BrE and that is where the definition is found. I personally use realise.
