Typo and slip of the pen

Is it true that "typo" means the same thing as "slip of the pen"?

Which one do you(native speakers) most often use?

Please help and thanks.

A typo happens on a keyboard; a slip of the pen happens in handwritten text. The latter is less often used nowadays— for obvious reasons.

Hi Mr. Micawber. Sorry for posting another reply because I do have a follow-up question on "typo".

If I've made some typos in a reply, then in the next reply I say, "Those are/were only typos and I'm sorry." Which is correct?

Thanks.

The reply is past but the text of it still exists, so both are correct. I'd use 'were'.

I've never heard 'slip of the pen' before. It is similar to 'slip of the tongue' but a bit of a stretch, I think.
