Typing at Vs Typing onto a computer screen

What is the difference between "She is ostentatiously typing at her computer" and "She is ostentatiously typing onto her computer screen".

Thanks for answering. I read this book titled, "Twenties Girl", in which the writer mentions the phrase type at and type onto a screen.Hence thought of getting it clarified.
