typical sentence framing

Why can't we use person whenever addressing somebody as coward ?
For example, people blamed him for being a coward (person).
Is person suitable at the end, if not why..?

You have to distinguish between a noun and an adjective (or adverb). Coward = a noun Cowardly = adjective / adverb. P eople blamed him for being cowardly.

Coward = a noun
Cowardly = adjective / adverb.
