I find it intriguing that foreign students are taught to name these sentences. In the UK we never get taught such things. Despite a 'grammar school' education, this subject was never addressed. Even the current government initiative to improve formal grammar among youngsters does not mention the naming of types of sentences, other than in the most straightforward forms. I know virtually no
