Type of clause/usage

It makes you consider the difference between riding down that road in a car,
versus driving down that road on a bicycle.

(What do we call these type of clauses where they have a comparative meaning/contrast?

Is the comma here accurate or optional - as the whole sentence is the main clause-right. Wasn't sure you could split it.





The bigger a dream is, the harder it is to achieve.
The harder they come, the harder they fall.
The more you ignore me, the closer I get.

With these comparative clauses, should you use them in a sentence why are they not considered comma splices.

I guess you could use a semi-colon, but we see these examples used with commas.
