two situations...please help
Hi guys,
May I ask you for help in the next two situations?
1) Context:
Greg, head of the SWAT team, is asking Sam, how they should make a contact with the robber in the bank.....
Good. So, how do we make a connection with this guy? Can talk anybody out of anything if he thinks you don't understand.
Does the underlined part mean "He could stand mute, if he thinks you don't understand"????
2) Context:
Psychologist is givining an advice to police officers, how they should speak with the guy, who lost his job and decided to rob a bank.
Okay, you need to look for inadequate personality, substance abuse. Appeal to shared experience, validate his emotional reality.
I kinda have a problem with the whole point of what she said...
...Did she say..."You have to find out whether he isinadequate personality, or whether he used drugs. Show him that you have the same experience, figure out his emotional reality" ...Is that correct?
