Two Simple Questions About Question Words

Hi All

I have got 2 questions...

1. Is this sentence grammatically correct...

"What is your favorite singer"

..... or does it HAVE TO be.......

"Who is your favorite singer"

2. What about this one....

"How do you live?"

Does this sentence correct or does it, somehow, have to continue. For example...

"How do you live a day of your life?"

Thanks

Well, to use ‘what’ when the answer you're expecting is the name of a person is just a bit... dehumanising... So, it's probably better not to use it. Using ‘who’ is preferable: ‘Who is your favourite singer?’

This:
Who is your favorite singer?

What refers to an object, not a person.
murat guler"How do you live?"
OK. It can be rhetorical.

Some people make only $1 a day. How do they live?
