Could you explain the meaning of the words in bold in the following two questions? Thank you.
1. The first question is "the story contained 1008 characters and was dvided into 15 chapters."
The given definition of "character" is "Chinese words" in the textbook. But "character is always used as main actors in the story. So I am confused with what 1008 characters mean?
2. The second question is "I am thinking of something along the lines of a costume party." What along the lines of means?
