Two questions, please!

Hi!

I have two questions, please:

a) What's the difference between quick and fast ? e.g.: The restaurants in this region prepare the orders more quickly and have the fastest service.

b) "You get out of your air-conditioned car and you walk right into another air-conditioned environment." In this sentence does "walk right into" mean "enter immediately" ?

Thank you very much,
Stella

"Quick" has to do with elapsed time. "Fast" is related to speed. When two dragsters race the "quicker" one always wins irrespective of which is the "faster" (not considering r.t.).
