Two questions.

A friend of mine who belongs to the acting club says that she wants to try any role given to her. If I were asked to play a part that seemed too difficult to perform well, I wouldn’t do it.

Hi, I have two questions about the underlined part.

A: Does it make a difference in meaning if I replace “were asked” with “were to be asked”?

B: Is the following version better than the original?

If I were asked a role that seemed beyond my ability, I wouldn’t do it.
