1. Is it correct to use what I think is an adverb like this?

2. Is it correct to use the word "be" here?

"If it has to change from our last tries, so be it." You might say this is more common or more expected. "Let it be" is sort of an imperative referring to the future.

"If he had to break his leg, than so be it."
