Two questions

Hi,

1. I think the folloiwng sentence could be seen as a form of entreatment. Can the underlined part be different?

May the Holy Spirit be pleased to open your ears,as He has mine.

Could the underlined part be:

as He has done to mine
as He is to mine.

2. Is this correct? Can we put the indefinite article "a" in front of "crying" which I interprete as denoting an activity of crying? What is the guideline (if there is any) for making something that is normally uncountable countable by turning it into an instance of it? Is reasonability a good guideline to follow?

May there be a crying unto Him for a deliverance from ...
