Two of my cousins were married and divorced

Hi everyone,

Please see the following sentences. I have two cousins. Both of them got married in the year 2018 from respectable families. But both divorced a year later. In this context, I'd like to know whether the following sentences gives an impression that two of my cousins married each other. If yes, please correct them according to the context.

"Two of my cousins were got married and both of them divorced after an year."

Thank you.
