He toured the site with his two fellow senators.

Grammatically, I believe it means he has only two senator friends, am I right?

A similar example,
The man killed her two children. ( She had only two children).

I know that fellow implies he is a senator too. My question is grammatically, the position of two before the word senators makes it sound like he knows only two senators just like the mother has only two children, am Iright? If not, why?. I hope this is clearer now.

Are you saying the same construction have different meanings? I thought grammatically, the first sentence would make more sense if it was written as "with two of his fellow senators". I said grammatically in case you didn't notice. I believe native speakers automatically correct the meaning so quickly that they don't notice it's incorrect. So practically, it's correct. I agree that a better phrasing would be "two of his fellow senators" and not "his two fellow senators."

Real world knowledge tells us that there are 100 senators.
