Two different tenses in participle constructions
His work has been internationally recognized, his book The Visible Hand being awarded the Pulitzer Prize for History and the Bancroft Prize.
I have seen this sentence and I was wondering if I can rewrite it to
His work has been internationally recognized, and his book The Visible Hand was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for History and the Bancroft Prize.
And I learned that when tenses are different like
Because she was born in the USA, she can speak English well.
->Having been born in the USA, she can speak English well.
And then there are two different tenses such as have been and was in the original sentence and then was should be has been or the difference between present perfect tense and past tense is not like the difference present tense and past tense?
