Two desks: align one with the other

Hi,

If we have two desks in a row in the classroom, with A several inches ahead of B, and I want some student to move desk A back to stand in a same line with desk B, what should I say?

Can I say "Please align desk A with desk B"?

Thanks a lot.

Yes, although"align" is a relatively high-register word. In everyday English people would often say it another way, such as "Please move desk A level with desk B" or "Please put desk A in line with desk B" or something.
