Two consecutive participle pharses

Is it accepted to have two consecutive participle pharses - e.g., Laoriz lies on the floor, disgusted, searching for word - or are you better off dropping the comma and using 'and', or are both acceptable?

, Laoriz lies on the floor, disgusted, searching for word s - or are you better off dropping the comma and using 'and', or are both acceptable? Standard grammar prefers 'and'. You can omit it if you think it gives your sentence more style, more drama, but I wouldn't do it a lot or I think it will start to irritate the reader.
