Two commas next to as

Such reductionism had recourse in quantitative pedagogy, though a coterie of Hegelians, those who follow Georg W.F Hegel’s philosophy, rebuked Comte’s positivism, as, like Dilthey himself, they advocated interpretivism whereby the social science may not be subject to the empiricism of the natural science.

The two commas look very strange placed here. Is this ok?
