Twice / two times / a second time

I don't know him well; I've only met him twice / two times.

I don't know him well; I've only met him a second time.

I know that twice and two times are synonymous, but they are not synonymous with a second time, but in those example sentences above, I feel like they all mean the same. Or if they are not, is there a case where they are used for the same meaning? What do you native English speakers think?

Thank you so much in advance.

Hans51 I don't know him well; I've only met him a second time. That sounds odd—as if you never met him the first time!
