Tweener

Hi,

I have a question about this word "Tweener" when I was watching Prison Break, why does T-bag call David Apolskis "Tweener" ? I was wondering if someone could tell me more about it? Thanks for your help.

Here a little context, hope it helps.

T-bag: Not a good position you find yourself in, is it? Whites don't want you, blacks don't want you. You're just caught in the middle, aren't you. A regular Tweener. ... ...

Someone who is "in-between" From the context, it sounds like he has one black parent and one white parent, so he's in-between "cultures".

He could be considered a 'tweener' (a negative term) if neither race wanted to claim him or have anything to do with him. I think he hardly fits the category, given his current position.
