TV show name

Hi. I think the names of TV shows need to be in quotes. Why some are in quotes and some are not. Do we have to put the names of TV shows in quotes regardless where they appear?

He appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

He made his appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

The Oprah Winfrey Show fans are good.

Hi. Do you think this italicizing of the names for TV series and continuing programs should be done regardless where the name appears (even in an adjectival position)? If yes, why did I seem to have seen many without being italicizeds when I checked out some sentences that had the names in print?

Many people are not aware of standard convention; many more are not consistent in their application. Decide what you want to dok, and be consistent.
