Hi.

The TV appearance was so brief that it hardly warranted comment.

Does 'TV appearance' mean a show on television?

Is the word 'warranted' interchangeable with 'necessitated' in that sentence? If not, what other alternative would you suggest while keeping the original meaning unchanged, or bringing the least change?
