Hi please correct this paragraph for me. If you were me, what would you say to express the same message of these sentences? Thank you.

I gave him several practice but he still didn’t know what he was doing. We went over the quiz. We did some similar practice., hopefully he got some of it. I gave him some practice if he has time to do it by the next lesson. I also gave him my phone number so he can ask any questions about his lessons and my assignments

I gave him several practice quizzes, but he got almost everything wrong. I went over the quizzes with him, and gave him some practice exercises to do in my presence, with me going over everything step-by-step with him. Hopefully he got something out of all of it.
