TUTELARY STAR

Dear Teachers,

1. - What do you think when your wife earns / makes more money than you do?

- What do you think when your wife's salary is higher than yours?

2. This is a tutelary star. It will protect both of us / two of us.

- Are 1 & 2 natural?

Thanks a lot to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

IMO:

If this is hypothetical (she doesn't yet earn that much), one should use:
1. - What would you think if your wife earned/made more money than you do?

If this is real (she does already earn that much), one should use:
1. - What do you think about your wife earning

Hi,

'Tutelary' is a very, very uncommon word.

What is a 'tutelary star', please?

Best wishes, Clive

Hi,

Yes, but when Stevenukd said This is a tutelary star. It will protect both of us / two of us it sounded like he was referring to something physical.

Dear Clive and Marius Hancu!

- I mean when I give my girlfriend a silver star as a gift, and I say "sweetheart, this is a tutelary star. It will protect both of us / the two of us". That's what I mean. So, "tutelary star" are not common words? if not, which words are appropriate?

Thanks in advance.

And here I was thinking it was some kind of thing in a video game thing that would give you special powers. I have never seen this word in my life. Could you say it's a good luck charm? But it doesn't matter what words I've seen. If your girlfriend knows the word, then use it.
