Could someone take a look at this please?

1 What turns people on to/about her is her way of dressing, other than that/apart from that, she's banal.
2 Is this one of these movies that have music playing in the background the whole time/with music playing in the background the whole time.

alc24 1. What turns people on to/about her is her way of dressing, other than that/apart from that, she's banal. You should replace the comma splice with a full stop.
"Other than / apart from" are both okay.
Re "to/about": "About" works well in this situation. I also hear "to," but I'm hard pressed at the moment to explain it. There's a different meaning for it, akin to "that's what set me on to her" - that is, what put me on her trail, as in an investigation.
Also, turning someone on has erotic connotations which don't seem to apply in this case. It's more of a one-on-one thing, rather than "she turns people on." That is, "People think she's ****" is different from "She turns me on."

2 Is this one of these movies that have music playing in the background the whole time/with music playing in the background the whole time. Both versions are common (and idiomatic) and require question marks. Sorry, this is not very good. Too tired.
