I was talking on the phone about how some third party people let me down in order to fix a technical issue at work

I don't understand why he said what he did.
Is your boss a native speaker? Do you think it is possible that he does not understand what the word 'sinister' means?

He is not a native english speaker, but he do have very good english. Just worried if he meant that I am turning into a bad employee or maybe he was just joking about me getting angry with these third party people. I am currently learning English so sorry for my bad grammar
