Turnaround means?

So I wrote him this, "Thanks for sending me the poetry, but Sorry, I haven't published it yet"
He replied "Great! What's the turnaround?"

What does the turnaround mean on that context? Is that means that he was asking why it has not been published yet?

Turnaround here is used in the context of : a decision to reverse an earlier decision. In this context, he probably means to ask why had you decide otherwise, when you meant to publish the poem in the first place?

Oh so, it means that either he was asking me when will I publish it, or he was asking why I haven't published them?

Yes, and he could also be asking how long will it take to publlish the poem.

Turnaround is also used in that sense.

Here is what can help you understand it a bit more.
