Turn over a new leaf

Please help me correct the paragraph. Thanks!

A Brand-New Jason

Jason used to be a lazy boy who was always listless and idled away his time. He had a bad habit. After he did his homework, he was always leaving things on the table and carelessly scattered his pants, socks and books all over the floor in the living room. Instead of sleeping in his bedroom, he even lay down on the sofa and soon fell asleep. Thus, he made a mess of the living room. One day he was sick, and his mother took the opportunity to admonish him against his bad habits. He promised his mother he would turn over a new leaf. The next day, he made a fresh start to change his attitude for the better. He cleaned up the mess in the living room, and he kept everything neat and tidy. Now, the living room has taken on a completely new look. He is a brand-new Jason.
