Turn on the power supply and conduct electricity

Hi,

It might be technical. I have a circuit and connect all the pieces. now the final step to turn on the light is to pass electrcity throught the circuit. Can I say pass electricity through the circuit/loop? Or i should say turn on the power supply? If not, how should i say the step to turn on the circuit?
