Turn Into/Onto

If I were driving on 1st Street and then took a right turn at the intersection with 2nd Street (so 1st street and 2nd are at right angles). I think there are a few different ways of writing about this:

"I turned right onto 2nd Street."
"I turned right into 2nd Street."
"I turned right to 2nd Street."

Should I use 'onto', 'into', or 'to'?

I'd use into instinctivelly...

'To' sounds unnatural to me, here in Canada.

I usually say and hear 'onto'.
