I tried to find a piece of information in a book. I did not know where it was. So I needed to turn the pages. Can I say "turn back the pages", or "turn the pages forward" or "turn to the back, turn to the front, and turn to the middle"? Thanks very much

Thanks. Sometimes you need to tell somebody which direction he should go. He was thumbing through the pages, and you would like to tell him where the information was. So can you use the phrases that I propose?
