Turn a CAT into TUNA

This game is a simple spelling game. At each step you make one change to the spelling of a word. Continue making changes until you've acheived the correct answer. You may make three kinds of changes:

1. Add a letter
2. Delete a letter
3. Swap letters

Everytime you make a change, it must result in another English word. Note that this game is about letters, not sounds. You can't add "TH" in one step, because that's two letters even though they represent only one sound.

Further rules:
- No acronyms.
- No proper names.
- No hyphenated words.
- No contractions or possessives.

- Each change must result in a new English word. In order to make rules clear, something is considered "an English word" if it appears in the dictionary at www.m-w.com

Example: go from CAT to TUNA in four steps:
Start - CAT
1. CANT (add a letter)
2. ANT (delete a letter)
3. AUNT (add a letter)
4. TUNA (switch T and A)

Now you try these:

Go from PRINCE to KING in 5 steps
Go from FIST to HAND in 7 steps
