tuning in VS. listening

I have a presentation on Tuesday.
Can I use " Thank you for tuning in" instead of "Thank you for listening"?
Is 'tuning in' only for an announcer or an officer ?
It sounds like really formal words.

"tuning in" is selecting a radio or television channel, so if you are delivering your presentation on radio or TV, it is completely appropriate to end it with "Thank you for tuning in". Otherwise, use "Thank you for listening".
