I've recently been trying to improve my written english, so I commit myself to writing each day.
I would be very grateful if somebody could correct or just look at my today's text
This time I had written something about one of my favourite hobbies. Magic! ![]()
"So. What is a magician actually doing? We’ve all heard about that top hat man wearing shiny clothes, preferably a white ruffled shirt, who happens to pull rabbits out of his hat whenever he can. And not to mention the chain sawed virgin trapped inside a funny looking box made from plywood (painted in bright clashing colors) that long should have been thrown away or at least used for a carnival wagon. However, is this really the way modern magicians try to market themselves? If you see behind the curtain (no pun intended), you will find a wealth of electrifying personas, many of them using the same techniques like the old magicians (the hat guy...) but pretending to be a completely different sorts of stage persona. Some of them claim to posses the ability to read minds, melt metal or see into our most protected dreams and desires. Others go one step further and dismiss the art of magic as some kind of “funny business”, which only existed to mock about the old top hat man with his white gloves and linking rings. While there certainly is some kind fun in the old nostalgic and often seen as comical presented approach towards magic, it really saddens me to see that most (not all of course!) magic men seem to feel ashamed of their very own art and try to sell it as some sort “gimmickry” , always telling they are absolutely more than magicians - because they either have “super powers” or misuse it as a comedian running gag."
