Trying to hone a plain English writing style is very difficult for me

Even though English isn't my native language, my writing comes across forcibly verbose. There is more verbiage in my writing than there is 'meaning'. It is this 'meaning' that I struggling to assimilate with the 'least' amount of words. So, now I have decided to remedy this problem by treating each word as a single unit much like a number but this is proving to be very difficult. My understanding of English has changed insofar that the ability to write in plain English is akin to writing a mathematical formula in which there are strict logical operators collectively deciding the clarity of the intended meaning behind them.

English, or indeed any language, is built on a foundation of logic and only now do I see this!
