Trying to express something with the word SIMULATE, doesn't quite make sense

Could someone help me fix the sentence.

  • Your body simulates feeling so as to make it seem real when you're dreaming. For example if in a dream you're getting electricuted, your body finds a way to make that a reality without actually being so - you're body tenses up and shakes.
thank you

Your body simulates sensations so as to make them seem real when you're dreaming. For example, if in a dream you're getting electrocuted, your body finds a way to make that seem a reality– it tenses up and shakes.

Thank you

could you add

WITHOUT BEING SO after "make that seem reality without actually being so"

Iknow it's redundant but is it grammatically correct?

Thanks
