Try to go vs try going

Hi there,

In terms of grammar rules which one of the following sentences is the correct one:

1. You can try to go that way.
2. You can try going that way.

Are both correct, if so, do they convey distinct meanings ?

Thanks in advance,
utxeee.

They have different meanings for me.

#1 means that I can make the attempt to go in a certain direction. There is an implication that I may not succeed - - the way may be blocked, for example.

#2 means that I can go that way to see if I get where I wanted to be.
