try and try out

Hello,
Which verb would fit this sentence better: "I really want to try/try out windsurfing this summer"? I think I'd go with try, but I'd be more likely to say: "I am going to try out my new air rifle tomorrow morning". Neither would surprise me, however.

Me, too. 'Try out' is more often a mechanism or technique, not an entire sport or activity.
