Try and dry

I heard a song sung by an Irish singer, and his pronunciation of the word “try” just sounded like “dry”!

Does “tr” and “dr” sound the same in British English?

Physiologically speaking, the only difference between 'tr' and 'dr' is that the 'd' is voiced, while the 't' is not. It's not unusual to hear them as nearly the same.
