Vocabulary

trust more

Hello!

Can you please check this sentence. I'm not sure wheteher I should replace trust in with have more confidence in. Do you have an idea how to improve the last part of the sentence in blue.

The reasons that are often stated as an excuse are financial difficulties or lack of unerstanding of higher levels of management that do not recognize the need for organizational changes but trust more in their own experience than in the knowledge from books/academic knowledge or knowledge of the foreign consultants.

Thank you
