This is one of the hazards of being a speaker of Turkish.

Today an elephant fell from the sky and crashed through the roof of my house.

This is correct (grammatically), but it is not true because there is no elephant within 50 miles of my house and the roof is not at all damaged.

Is it true?
This is a mistake we'll find with many Turkish posters, as the word dogru in Turkish means both 'correct' and 'true'. It may well be the same for other languages.
