Trivia questions problem

Hi guys, how are you ? I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask.
I know this kind of silly questions. But, I've difficulty in understanding it.

1. There's no milk left. ___ ?
a. has peter drunk all of it
b. did peter drink all of it
The answer : a
Why the answer A ? I think 'B' works out as well. It refers to something already happened.

2. ___ no persuading him to buy the car.
a. There was
b. It was
c. Here was
d. That was
The answer : a
Why the answer A ? not B, C or D?

3. "What happened ?" "As you know, my schoolmates never ___ their clothes well. ".
a. Hung
b. Hang
The answer : a
Why the answer A ? Isn't that kind of habitual action ? So we should answer B ?

Thanks for your kind reply.

Hendy Gunawan 1. It refers to something already happened. That applies to both A and B.

  • Hendy Gunawan 1.
  • It refers to something already happened.
  • That applies to both A and B.
  • However, you are right, both answers are possible, and B is the better choice, since the milk is obviously finished; A is possible if the drinking was recent.
  • It is a poor question.

Hi Mr Micawber, thanks for englightening me. I was just skeptical about my answers because not all my opinions were right, as far as grammar's concerned. So I suppose it's such a great idea for me to get advised or hear other opinions especially about grammar and this is the right site for me so far. Once again, thank you.
