Trip/round trip

We have only one school bus. The bus first takes students of grade 1st to 5th to their homes. Then it comes back to school to take students of grade 6th to 10th to their homes.

How do natives say this?

"My school bus does two trips/round trips to take the students to their homes and vice versa."

I would probably say "My school bus makes two trips to take the students home and two to take them to school." Round trip is not wrong as long as the bus stays at the school when not in use.
