"The cops interrogated me for hours. I think they are trying to trip me in."

What is the meaning of "trip me in" in the above sentence? Does it mean that the cops are trying to frame me or cause me to make a mistake?

It makes no sense to me. "trip me up" (i.e. trick me into making a mistake) would make sense.
