Tricky to explain-- 'in such a way'

In the comment box for a youtube video, how does one type in a time that refers to a particular point in a video in such a way that it takes you to the corresponding moment/snapshot in the video when clicking on it?

1. What does 'it' in bold refer to? 'a way'?

2. Can I change 'in such a way' to 'in a way'? Why/why not? I have a feeling that 'in a way' requires a verb immediately after it, but can you explain why please?

One must also act in such a way as to be seen to have done the right in the eyes of one's fellow man."

3. What is the meaning of 'as to' here? 'in such a way' is usually followed by a relative clause starting with 'that.' I'm not familiar with as to.
