Vocabulary

trendy / cool

Do they mean the same? If I say 'that dress is cool' is it the same as if I say 'that dress is trendy'? Or are they used in different situations?

Thanks for your answers.

Trendy can sometimes be insulting. It can imply that the person can't be original. I would use cool in any situation, and trendy if the clothing isn't owned by the person.
