"TREMOÇOS" in English

Emotion: smile Hi everyone!

I really need to know the English word for "tremoços".They're like yellow beans and are very tasteful. Some southern Europeans (Portuguese,Spanish) eat them with a nice, cold beer.

Thanks a lot

Take care,

Rachel

Hi Cristopher,

I just found them in a small off-licence on high street ken, near warick gardens bust stop, north side of the street (I think Iranian shop)

but I guess that you could find tremoços in any Portuguese food store in london..

good luck!

"White lupin", or "lupinus" will work.

For them to be eatable they need to be boiled and to be in brine for some days, as the raw seeds are poisonous.

Hi Rachel

It could be said that there isn't really an english word for them because they don't exist in our culture.

Having said that, I bought a 1 kg packet of "Lupin" seeds from an asian shop recently. I've been experimenting with their preparation...

The packet has something written in Arabic - which I can't understand - and elsewhere says they were packed in Lebano
