Trekking poles, etc.

Hi,

If you could help me with the following language?

(1) Is 'ski sticks' dated? Looks like native speakers (both BrEng and AmEng) tend to use 'ski poles' for 'ski sticks' nowadays? Also, would it be correct to say that 'ski sticks' is more BrEng than AmEng?

(2) What terms are synonymous with 'Nordic walking poles' (in most contexts at least)?

Top answer

I have never heard "ski sticks" It has always been "ski poles" or "walking stick" or "cane" or "staff."
